Our Reading Agony this week “I am interested in taking up a new hobby can the library help?”
We suggest our many and varied book collections of titles on arts and crafts such as knitting, woodwork, painting, cooking etc.  Also,  perhaps joining a craft group – we have information on local groups and some even meet in the library.

We discuss today – Reads for a chilly day, or a stuck in bed with a cold day….
Suggestions included classics from childhood and reads set in another time or place.
We had quite a mix of titles which included:

• Anything at all by Terry Pratchett
What Katy Did by Susan Coolidge
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
Persuasion, Mansfield Park, Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris
Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher
Parasol Protectorate & Finishing School Series by Gail Carriger
Bannon and Claire series by Lilith Saintcrow
Lord Peter Wimsey series by Dorothy L Sayers
Sherlock Holmes stories by Arthur Conan Doyle
Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon

Staff quote of the day (this came from Grant) “I’m a perfectly coordinated superhero today, I’ve put matching Flash T-shirt and socks on without realising!”

Did you know?  We stock books in several community languages including Urdu, Polish, Arabic, Chinese, and more – so you can cosy up with a book in the language of your choice
