About the Writing Rammy
The Writing Rammy is open to all ages, you can take part whether you’re 8 or 80! You just need to live in the wider Falkirk area and write a short piece of fiction or poetry on a theme of your choice.
Our favourite entries receive gift vouchers, nice stationery and an invitation to our celebration event, where we’ll invite you to stand up and read your entry (if you want to).
Our panel will choose a winner and runner up in each of the following categories
- 12 and Under
- 13-17
- 18+
- Family Rammy (best family entry)
Winners are announced mid-November and invited to a special prize giving ceremony during Book Week Scotland towards the end of November.
Family Rammy
For a chance to scoop our Family Rammy prize, get your family members writing and send in your compositions together. We want everyone to take part – mums, dads, grannies, uncles, big brothers, cousins… the whole family!
But seriously, Family Rammy entries don’t need to involve lots of people – it can involve as little as one entry from and adult and one entry from a child in the same family.
