Little Thoughts At Christmas poem by Stanley Watson

Local Falkirk resident Stanley Watson has been sharing his poems with us this year, when he became a friend of the Care Words project.  We have really enjoyed reading and hearing his poetry and he has penned his latest, to reflect his thoughts on  Christmas 2020

Here is his latest poem.

Little Thoughts at Christmas

Have yourself a Merry “little” Christmas,

The Yuletide choristers sing,

And that’s what we intend to do,

In spite of everything.

We hear a “little” Christmas,

Is the best we’re going to get,

There’s a “little” word keeps coming up,

To remind us not to fret.

There’s “little” donkey, “little” donkey,

On the road to Bethlehem,

Taking the family safely onwards,

As we remember them.

In “little” town of Bethlehem,

The holy birth took place,

And in the humble stable there,

The “little” baby Jesus graced.

Lighter Little Thoughts

There’s Santa’s “little” helpers,

Thank God they’re covid free,

Ensuring that the presents,

Arrive beneath the tree.

The “little”fairy on the Christmas tree,

Looks down from above,

Tree lights shining brightly,

On houses filled with love.

So come on Santa baby,

There’s no time for relaxing,

The biggest “little” thing we want,

Are bags full of the vaccine.

Be it on-line, zoom or Skype,

Just keep in touch somehow,

and have yourself a Merry

“Little” Christmas now.
