What a World Book Day!

Well, World Book WEEK, really.

Thursday 4th March was the 25th World Book Day! Of course when you’re dealing with a silver anniversary, you find the celebrations tend to go on a bit beyond the special day. Our libraries had decked the halls, created brilliant bookish displays and went on to welcome visitors from local schools and nurseries all week long.

Festivities started bright and early on Monday, with Basil from Bonnybridge Library spending the day with St Joseph’s Primary.

Debbie welcomed children from Denny nursery on Monday…

…And again on Wednesday.

While Zetland nursery enjoyed Storytime at Grangemouth Library with Lynn on Thursday.

Everyone was dressed up at Larbert Library – including the library staff!

Wait, that’s not Laura, it’s a Dragon Rider! We had to tell ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ author Cressida Cowell about it.

And she wasn’t the only author who engaged with her fans on Twitter….

We love meeting pupils and staff. We were really pleased that Victoria Primary could join us at Falkirk Library.

And that St. Mary’s Primary had such a great time at Bo’ness Library.

The St. Mary’s children left us with some great book artwork, which now has pride of place on the library walls.

Seems some of our visitors have been inspired to create their own stories. We’ll look forward to seeing what these youngsters have created.

Thanks to all the schools who visited and tagged us in their photos. We hope we’ll see you all again soon – remember it doesn’t need to be a special occasion to visit the library!
